HOW OFTEN DOES MUSIC MEDITATION MEET?
The club meets once a week for one hour. During workshop periods we may meet more than that.
DO YOU NEED PRIOR MEDITATION EXPERIENCE TO JOIN MUSIC MEDITATION?
The Club is open to anyone and everyone who wants to learn more about the practice of meditation and their own spiritual journey. We have members who have been doing meditation for years, some who have never done it, and others who are new to it. So, no experience needed!
WHAT TYPE OF EVENTS DOES MUSIC MEDITATION HOST?
The meetings usually consist of guided meditation, group talks, and guest speakers. We may hear from urban monks or from the club staff themselves and the discussions/presentations cover themes of self-care, meditation practice, spirituality in today’s society. For example, previous talks have been: “Perfect Balance: Spirit and Matter,” “Dealing with the Mind Gone Wild,” and “Power of Sound.”
WHAT DO THE WORKSHOP PERIODS (INTERSESSION) CONSIST OF?
The workshops, also known as accelerator workshops are meant to cultivate a more intimate space where everyone can share their meditation experience and reflect on how the themes of meditation and spirituality are present in their life. For example, throughout the workshop this past winter, everyone shared out their mediation practice goals and every week we would journal our progress. We also engaged in conversation about different mantras, veganism, and much more. Overall, these workshops are where one can really hone in on their spiritual goals and share those goals with like minded people.
